How do I get a custom book cover from you?

Please use the contact page to connect with Melony. Within 48 hours, she will reach out to you to discuss your design needs, and if your project is within her purview, schedule your cover design project. A $50 booking fee is required to lock in your date.

What is your availability?

I’m usually booked 4-6 months out. Contact me for current availability.

What is the best way to reach you?

Email. You can use the form on my contact page, or email me directly at melony@paradisecoverdesign.com

My project is scheduled, now what?

During the initial booking, a client portal should have been created for you in Melony’s project management system. Before your scheduled start date you will need to complete your brief form, sign your contract, and make your invoice payment.

What if I need to cancel?

If you cancel more than a week before your scheduled start date, any payments you’ve made can be refunded (minus a $50 cancellation fee) or credited toward future projects.
If you cancel less than a week before your project start date, there is a 50% cancellation fee, and any balance over that can be refunded or credited toward future projects.
There are no fees for rescheduling.

Can I read your contract before I contact you?

Absolutely! You can find my contract on the Terms & Conditions page. My Terms & Conditions page is the same as my contract. To purchase a premade or custom book cover design, you must agree to this contract. I encourage you to read it thoroughly before agreeing.

How long will it take to get my cover?

Typically, new projects begin on Mondays, and can take about a week to complete. Communication delays, revisions, and a number of other factors can sometimes extend a project up to 3 weeks or more.

How many revisions do I get?

Up to three rounds of revisions are included in your custom cover design package. If more revisions are needed, they will be billed at my current hourly rate in addition to the package cost.
Up to two text revisions are included in the purchase price of a premade book cover.
There is never a fee for adding a bestseller tag to your covers. If you have multiple covers that need this update, please understand that I may not be able to get those done right away.

I might need a print wrap. Do I have to order it now?

Print wraps can be ordered any time. You can purchase it when you buy a premade or custom cover, or you can get it sometime in the future.

Do you have payment plans?

At this time, I do not offer any payment plans.

Can I get the layered PSD file for my cover?

No. Due to a number of factors, including photo stock licensing restrictions, I do not provide layered PSD files.

What are the different print format fees for?

Each publisher has different print formats for paperback and hardcover books. Some publishers offer templates, some don’t. KDP paperback templates are different than Ingramspark’s hardcover template, and so on. If you plan to print your book at multiple publishers, each of those formats will have a separate fee.

What if I need something that is not included in the package I purchased?

Add-ons are priced individually. Everything else will be billed at my current hourly rate.

I bought a cover from you, but I no longer need it. Can I get a refund?

All sales are final. I do not offer refunds on premade covers or finished custom cover designs.

I have blank artwork and need the title and text added to it.

I am happy to do a title treatment for your amazing artwork. However, I do require proof of permission from the artist to modify their artwork. No, I will not accept your “word” that you have permission. Copyright and licensing are legal issues that I am not willing to compromise on.

What is the difference between standard, premium, and exclusive photo stock in your design packages?

I use Depositphotos, iStock, Shutterstock, and 123RF for standard photo stock. The cost for using these providers is included in your design package. Stock photos from another subscription service will cost extra.
Stock from premiums boutique stock sites also cost extra and can be a bit more pricey. Some common boutique sites include: Period Images, Neostock, Bewitching Book Stock, Stocklarium, and The Stock Alchemist.
Exclusive photos from sites, such as Moonstruck Cover Design & Photography or Regina Wamba Exclusive Stock Photography, will need to be purchased and licensed by you.

Do you use 3D stock graphics?

I will use many different resources to create a unique design for your book cover. This can include stock photos, 3D stock photos, vector graphics, and 3D images I create myself. I use Daz3D to create anything from backgrounds, objects, people, and even body parts and effects. Normal stock photography can be very limiting, but using 3D graphics allows me to create unique poses, outfits, and scenes for your characters.

How should I credit you in my book?

Please use this or a similar format to credit me for your cover design:
“Cover design by Melony Paradise of Paradise Cover Design”
*Include the link to www.paradisecoverdesign.com when possible

What is a 3D Book Graphic or 3D Box Set Graphic add-on?

A 3D Book or Box Set graphic is a PNG or JPG graphic image of your book cover in a 3D format that shows what your book might look like if it were a physical object. Examples below:

Hardcover

Paperback

Box Set
